June is in the books and we have been to Idaho and Wyoming trialing dogs. The weather in Afton was beautiful as usual, but it wasn't the perfect setting to write because there was so much going on. Our dogs did well; Elliott made the finals with one dog and I had a couple of full point runs but not good enough for the finals.
Summer is a tough time for keeping the critique groups together, but we are progressing with our books, just not as fast. My Away To Me book set in the world of cows and Border Collies is coming along well. Got lots of ideas at Afton. The Kiss Him Goodbye book with a rough and tough biker is also progressing. I love them both and depending upon which one I'm working on, I like that one best.
We also attended a branding and a cowboy wedding and it seemed we were gone for a month between cleaning out trailers, doing laundry and repacking. At the moment, one of my critique partners and I are planning a trip to London to attend the English Romance Writer's Conference. I'm really looking forward to going at the end of the month. It will be my first trip to England and my traveling partner, Connie, has been there several times, so I will have a great tour director when we play tourist after the conference.
The horses have taken a back seat to other pleasures, so now (when it's so hot) we are getting back into sorting. I always catch an hour here and there to write, and never know when I will see or hear something that spark the inspiration for another book.
